You show no sign of letting up. In fact, perhaps an air of desperation has finally reached you as the taste for your style of “political analysis” is receding.
To say that you embrace hypocrisy is letting you off far too gently. Yours is the mammoth category of hypocrisy that would have to be carried to the realm of infinity and beyond.
Remember Rush, you were the one who took the stern and unrelenting view that anyone caught consuming drugs under any circumstances should sustain one of two punishments: 1) execution; 2) be dismissed from America without ever receiving a future opportunity to return.
Oh Rush, you who made no exceptions among the poorest and most vulnerable of society, you a multimillionaire radio talk show host, you asked for mercy, the same mercy that you in a frenzy of dogmatic declaration denied to anyone suffering from drug affliction, even of a far lesser degree than your own.
As one who is always seeking the next round of hate mongering, your latest move was ”dreaming for riots in Denver” at the Democratic National Convention as part of an “Operation Chaos” that would make “the people of the far left … look bad.”
Based on your history as a member of the media “Operation Chaos” would be a good way of describing what passes for brain activity in your frantic cerebral center.
After stating your dream of riots for the Democrats you then once more jumped on your pedestal of smug self-superiority as you compared your beloved Republican Party of George Bush and Dick Cheney to the hated opposition:
“There won’t be riots at our convention. We don’t riot. We don’t burn our cars. We don’t burn down our houses. We don’t kill our children. We don’t do half the things the American left does.”
The aforementioned statement, Rush, was something you could easily have taken from the playbook of Hitler master propagandist, Joseph Goebbels, the tactic of engaging in the false art of erecting straw persons and then quickly tearing them down.
Okay Rush, let us take an irrational statement and boil it down to sensible reality. Who represents this blanket category of the “American left” that you self-righteously excoriate?
If we tie it to your statement concerning the Democratic Convention later this year in Denver then could you have meant the delegates, officeholders and other major party leaders that will be attending?
This is a logical conclusion since you would appear to be describing people in a position to shape political and social action. So tell us, Rush, can you name one person on any list of prominent Democrats that has engaged in rioting, burning their own cars and houses and killing their own children?
Your message isolates you all the more on the most extreme paranoiac fringe of right wing loony land. What quality of person wants to hear, much less will believe, such a parade of absurd and erroneous charges bereft of a thread of logical support?
On the subject of your whitewashing of your right wing faithful, defining them as wonderful people in every sense, there are some points that bear raising, Rush, in terms of what you and your colleagues represent.
You are into shredding democracy big time, Rush, by engaging in election theft, some of which has a decidedly racist tone. Yes, there was that case of blatant and shameful vote denial of African-Americans in Florida in 2000 by Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris.
These brazen tactics resulted ultimately in “victory” for his brother through the auspices of Federalist Society Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas hammering together a one vote majority.
Then again, bigotry is part of your on the air gamesmanship, Rush, as evidenced by the time you used your power over the microphone to shut off an African American caller, ringing off with a line that could have come straight from the Ku Klux Klan: ”Stick a bone in your nose!”
While you proclaim that your Republican Right brothers and sisters would never burn down houses and kill their own children, the “shock and awe” attack of Donald Rumsfeld in launching Bush and Cheney’s illegal attack and occupation of Iraq on behalf of the Project for the New American Century, the New World Order, and the global oil network.
Thus began a tragic cycle of death that, according to the respected British publication Lancet, now numbers over 1.2 million Iraqis, not to mention the almost 5 million that have fled their country, many of them penniless refugees living on the borders of neighboring Middle East states.
Ah Rush, and what about rendition, waterboarding, and all those other tactics that your gang in places like Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib have carried out? Dick Cheney says that America reserves the right to attack anyone, anywhere, anytime as long as there is even a 1 percent possibility of a link to terrorism!
Tell us, Rush, is this the kind of conservatism that the brilliant intellectual Edmund Burke, considered conservatism’s father, would have dreamed about and advocated? Would he have been proud to have you, Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld as allies?
Then, Rush, there is also that document that you and your cronies have demolished. It is called the United States Constitution.
By incessantly playing the fear card and shouting “9-11″ to the rooftops without ever independently investigating those tragic events, the Cheney-Bush unelected ruling junta has, in the name of fighting terrorism, arrogated authority to invade and snoop anytime, anywhere while objecting to even a minimal standard of seeking warrants.
Warrants obtainable from magistrates have been a traditional constitutional staple embraced by true conservatives who have fought tenaciously against an all-powerful executive authority.
Last but not least, Rush, there is the economic record the Bush-Cheney junta has achieved. Anyone with minimal brainpower knows that you cannot simultaneously wage not one but two wars while implementing mammoth tax cuts designed to go into the pockets of your wealthy benefactors.
In the best tradition or Burkean conservatism, your right wing gang has racked up a national debt that rapidly approaches $10 trillion. This incredible figure represents by far the highest in the history of the planet.
While you shout your propaganda without providing supportable data, there is plenty of such data concerning the misdeeds of extreme right wing radicalism of the Cheney-Bush ruling junta, but you and your zealots that you term “dittoheads” do not wish to see it.
