Israel Releases Hunger- Striking Prisoner Samer Issawi

The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said that the Israeli authorities released Palestinian prisoner Samer Issawi, 33, on Monday after nearly nine months of hunger strike protesting the injustice of his detention.

PPS also said that Issawi was released from Shatta prison and headed to his village al-Issawiyeh in occupied Jerusalem.

It’s worth mentioning that Israeli Occupation Forces raided Monday morning the village of Issawiyeh, broke into the house of Issawi and warned the family of Issawi against organizing any celebrations on the occasion of Samer’s release.
