Wa’ed slams Israeli jailers for not settling issue of Sharawna and Issawi

Book - Hunger Strike in Israeli Prisons

GAZA, (PIC)– Wa’ed society for detainees and ex-detainees strongly denounced the Israeli prison authority for manipulating the fate of hunger strikers Ayman Sharawna and Samer Issawi.

In a press release on Friday, Wa’ed society appealed to Palestinian official and popular institutions to save the lives of these two hunger strikers and pressure for their release.

It said that the issue of prisoners Sharawna and Issawi should be highlighted in every political move during the current stage, noting that the Israeli military courts keep sidestepping their issue.

The society pointed out that the hunger strikers were released as part of the prisoner swap deal with Israel, demanding the Egyptian sponsor of the deal to send an envoy to settle this issue before it is too late.

Palestinian human rights originations had warned that Sharawna and Issawi could die any moment after all the vital functions of their bodies failed to work properly.

Israeli officials from the prison authority and its courts visited them recently and gave them pledges to respond to their demands after the hunger strikers refused to undergo medical tests and take water or fluids, but the officials have not fulfilled any of their promises so far.
