(BBC Monitoring via COMTEX) —
Nablus -Ma’an -The Israeli military announced on Thursday [16 October] that it had released a Hamas-affiliated member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) from Nablus after a 17-month administrative detention and a fine of NIS 20,000.

The 52-year-old Daoud Abu Seer told Ma’an in a phone interview that the international community “should care about the issue of Palestinian prisoners and detainees” jailed in Israeli prisons.

“I spent 17 months in the jail with other members of Palestinian factions, mainly Fatah,” he said.
Abu Seer also added that “we must not lose the opportunity for real unity among Palestinians – in all parts of Palestine.”

Israel detained the PLC member in May 2007 at his home in the West Bank city of Nablus. He is married and a father of six children.

Thank you for what you have done already and please continue. Be assured that you have literally (as proved during a voter registration event in London last year) millions of americans living abroad who are sickened and disgusted by the (about to be ex–) government in the USA. Israel is a close second.
