Human dignity could not be preserved far from homeland says Algerian Guantanamo released prisoner
The Algerian originated from Bechar southern province, named Hamlili Mustapha, who was imprisoned at Guantanamo bay prison, has been received home by a great number of his acquaintances congratulating him for coming home unharmed.
In this regard, El Khabar journalist has been one of the first visitors of the released prisoner’s home; we have been received by his brother Abderrahmane, and his brother-in-law. Abderrahmane has praised the positive role El Khabar played for the release of Mustapha, adding that El Khabar efforts were as important as the one provided by the international organizations.
We tried to talk to Mustapha, but he was reserved as saying that the imprisonment circumstances at Guantanamo prison are not a secret. But he indicated that he is in good spirits, contrary to the information reported by the press, adding that a released prisoner could not be unhappy, “I am very pleased to return home,” he has been quoted as saying.
Mustapha thanked God as he met his mother alive, even if she has been sick recently as she suffered from lapses of memory. But once she has seen his beloved son, she recovered her courage. Mustapha said he is married to a Pakistani woman, and has 5 children, adding that he is eager to meet them and looks forward to living in Algeria, indicating that the man’s dignity could not be protected far from his home country.
