[ACTION] VISA TO AMERICAN DELEGATION FOR DR. AAFIA REPATRIATION DENIED

VISA TO AMERICAN DELEGATION FOR DR. AAFIA REPATRIATION DENIED

Has the Zardari Regime Denied Visas to Protect General Musharraf?

In his book, In the Line of Fire, General Musharraf indicts himself when he admits in Chapter 23, page 237: “We have captured 689 and handed over 369 to the United States. Various Pakistani individuals have earned bounties totaling millions of dollars. Those who habitually accuse us of “not doing enough” in the war on terror should simply ask the CIA how much prize money it has paid to Pakistanis”.

Action Request!  Help End the Beaurecratic Hold-up

An international delegation will be in Pakistan to bring attention to the need for urgent diplomatic action regarding the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui who is scheduled to be sentenced by a New York Court on Sept 23.

Hon. Cynthia McKinney, internationally renowned human rights activist and a former US Congresswoman, is a member of this delegation.

Although Hon Cynthia McKinney had applied for a visa through the normal channels, we need your help because, most unfortunately, some members of the Zardari administration in Washington DC are using delaying tactics in issuing visas to distinguished members of the global civil society, first Yvonne Ridley and now Cynthia McKinney, who are trying to help Pakistan and Dr. Aafia.

Dear Prime Minister Gillani,

An international delegation will be in Pakistan to bring attention to the need for urgent diplomatic action regarding the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui who is scheduled to be sentenced by a New York Court on Sept 23.

Hon. Cynthia McKinney, internationally renowned human rights activist and a former US Congresswoman, is a member of this delegation.

Although Hon Cynthia McKinney had applied for a visa through the normal channels, we need your help because, most unfortunately, some members of your administration in Washington DC are using delaying tactics in issuing visas to distinguished members of the global civil society, first Yvonne Ridley and now Cynthia McKinney, who are trying to help Pakistan and Dr. Aafia.

Above all this delegation wants to discuss a legally-plausible diplomatic initiative that could win Dr. Aafia’s much-deserved freedom. As you are aware, we have barely a week left to conceptualize, organize and launch a diplomatic initiative on Dr. Aafia’s behalf.

We need to help those who are trying to help Pakistan and Dr. Aafia. Kindly instruct the Foreign Secretary to issue visa to Hon. Cynthia McKinney without any further delay.
